Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Gale doesn't seem to care that he's been noticed. He was curious about these new soldiers, and what their goal was. He'd observe until provoked. The Abbis crouches down, and watches with lifeless eyes.

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
The crashing of something obviously metal and muffled cursing echoes through a wall of the cafe- it seems someone's attempt at entering incognito through a back window failed. Now that the intruder's presence is known, it seems all the more likely that stealth would become his priority- but no... No, still the stranger curses, and then the clang of metal is heard again, followed by a dull thud. It sounds as though the intruder's tripped over whatever had fallen...

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
((Damn, missed a bit.))
The man ducks the blast and it skins his back. He dosen't flinch and stands back up at looks on in amusement at Ayn's agression twoard Legion. He then looks to Rey, whose sword slash and bullet fire missed him as he ducked the blast. He quickly began firing away at Rey's leg, not particularly intrested in killing him. After wich he casualy walked past Ayn and the other soldiers. Stopping at a commander. "Do what you want with them, we have the outlines we need." With that, the man leaves. As he is walking you can clearly see the burnt skin from the Ayn's blast begin to heal rapidly, shiny peices of what looks like metal gleams out as it rebuilds itself. He then walks into the ship. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
((That's weird dude, casually walking away while someone's fighting you up close.))
*Rey moves his sword down to block the spray of bullets and manages to protect his kneecap. A couple of the bullets graze the side of his knee and one punctures the edge of his calf. He falls to one knee. As he looks up to fire a shot at his foe, he is distracted by another of the soldiers who can be seen lining up a shot at him. Rey fires three shots in his direction, causing him to seek cover.* *Rey'Kas gets up and staggers to the room the man just came out of. 'A good peice of cover, as long as I don't get trapped in.', he thinks to himself.* *Looking out to survey the situation, Rey is confused to see Gale observing nonchalantly. 'Not his problem, I guess.'* Rey swings out and lets off a few shots, goading some fire from one of the soldiers. After the soldier fires a few rounds and there is a slight pause, Rey moves back out in hopes that he's grabbing a new clip. He runs up to the table the soldier is hiding behind and kicks it over, allowing the swing of his sword to follow his foot, right into the side of the soldier's head. The soldier is knocked over, but quickly turns his torso back to face Rey. Before he can pull the trigger however, Rey fires a high-powered blast from his pistol straight into the soldier's head. It's not messy at first, as there's just a black hole in the even blacker helmet. After a moment, though, blood begins to boil out as proof of the soldier's passing. A small geyser of death that would have to serve as his story.* *After irradicating that particular threat, Rey'Kas steals his prey's make-shift bunker and shouts out.* Can anyone tell me how many are left?! *Rey waits for an answer, hoping that he'll be able to recognize a friendly voice.* |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
((I deflected your shots and Ayn was being mean to Legion and no one really stopped me. Either way, the character is good enough (and cool enough) to do that. :P))
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
There was another reverberating crack from the back room, and the couch exploded in a plume of white filling and fabric. The soldier behind it slumped backwards, missing his right shoulder.
"Two left!" |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
With the softest thud, Hayate lands behind his hostage and smashes the hilt of his sword into the man's neck, knocking him out.
You may be useful later. It's never wise to make everyone dead, lest we miss a detail. He drags the unconcious man behind a nearby table and takse a look around. It's very hard to tell what's going on, so he decides to stay out of it for a while |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Gale holds out his hand and dark energy swirls in his palm. He releases the orb of energy toward one of the soldiers, the recoil of the blast blow his hair back, revealing his pale, almost lifeless face. Usually Gale took pleasure in crushing adversaries, but not today. He didn't care anymore.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Ayn quickly ducks behind the counter, unable to avoid being hit anymore. She winces as she pulls a small wedge of wood out of her shoulder.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Sin falls infront of Ayn and expands, creating a shield. Meanwhile, Gale is charging another blast of energy. He wasn't sure who this fools were, but he'd be damned if they interfered with his plans.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Ayn mutters to herself. "How ironic. He's protecting me now so he can kill me later." She raises her voice. "Let's all fight over who gets first dibs on killing Ayn! Will it be the mad scientist? Will it be his equally unattractive minion? Or will it be angsty pants over here? Watch and find out!"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Gale seems to have ignored Ayn's ungratefullness, if he was even paying attention, and continues charging his attack. It seemed there were few soldiers left, he could finish them with one attack.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
The large man, hearing the destruction of his troops outside the ship, opens a small hole in the side of the ship facing Gale. He readies a sniper rifle and barely sticks it through the hole. He takes aim slowely and squeezes the trigger.

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
((Look S~O, I'm letting it go. But you can't just say your character is powerful/cool enough to do something like that. It's okay if you cause me to get distracted by something in order for you to walk away, but that's quite different than dodging one attack of mine, saying the other just 'missed' and then walking away like I'm on pause. It's rude. I'll leave you alone about it now.))
*Rey'Kas watches Hayate drag the limp body of a soldier behind an adjacent table.* It looks like there's one left, everyone. And Gale seems to have him under control anyway. Someone give me some cover.. we need to take care of that vessel! *He bends his knee a couple of times, trying to help loosen his injured muscle enough to run. Confident that he can stand on it, Rey bolts out from behind the table, keeping low and moving between obsticals for cover as he advances on the ship. He stops short, however, as he sees the large turret guns tracking different moving debris.* Motion trackers.. I don't know how well I can avoid blasts from guns as big as those.. Gale, do you think you can help me out with some of tha-- *As he is speaking, he sees a small hatch opening in the side of the ship* --GALE, incoming fire! *just then, a blast comes from the sniper rifle in the portal, heading straight for Gale.* |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Gale raises an eyebrow before the bullet rips into his chest and throws him back. He lets out a howl of pain and accidently releases the orb of energy towards his "allies". Gale crashes into the ground near the cafe and spits some blood out of his mouth. "I hate snipers..."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Her image, though barely visible, appears in the corner of the cafe, next to Ayn. There's an expression of pain on her face, but it's not one of physical pain. She looked devastated.
Ayn takes no notice of the image, in fact it's quite obvious she can't even see it. She even glances over in the image's direction, but her expression shows no notice of it. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Gale slowlys rises off the ground. By no means was the shot, or fall, lethal. However, he was still injured and it would take a few minutes to regain his footing. So much for a quick escape when the battle was over, he didn't even have Sin at the moment. Bloody brilliant.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Her footsteps are without weight or form, and there is no shadow or any phsyical indication that she's there. The sun shines through her, giving her a sort of glow around the edges of the image. She walks until she's a few yards away from Gale, watching him try to regain his balance. Her expression hasn't changed.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Gale looks up and sees Laena staring at him and he forgets his pain, but he's bothered by the crushed look evident on her face. "..Laena..."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Her voice cracks slightly when she speaks to him, as if she were on the verge of tears. "Gale.. What have you done?"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Gale looks at Laena, he didn't understand what was upseting her. "What are you talking about?"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
She looks down, her eyes resting on his hand. She turns away from him. "This is all my fault.."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Gale looks at the crimson soaked rags that covered his wrists and bowed his head. "No...nothing was your fault...nothing...."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
The expression on her face clearly indicates otherwise. "Then why..?"
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"...It's my fault...It's my fault you died. But I'm going to make up for it....I promise."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"Your fault.." She shakes her head. "No.. That is impossible." She looks up straight into his eyes, and smiles slightly. "Don't ever blame yourself.."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
"But it is my fault, I couldn't protect you..." Gale slumps back down to the ground.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
The smile disappers. "Please.. Do not blame yourself.. I cannot rest.." She pauses and swallows, vision, ghost or whatever, she was obviously capable of emotion. "I cannot rest if you are hurting so much.."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Gale is silent for a moment. "Very well...I will not bring you to this plain of existance anymore. Just rest...it'll all be over soon."
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
With the last soldier taken care of, Fury Three takes a step out of the doorway and lowers the sniper rifle in his hands. When Gale took a bullet from outside it caught him by surprise, and he immediately ducked and set his own sniper rifle's bipod up on the bar counter in front of him. He peered through the sight, which automatically brought the dropship outside into focus... There. Along the craft's left side, the last few inches of a rifle barrel hung out of a small opening. Carefully, he lined up the crosshairs and slowly depressed the trigger.
In an instant, the enemy sniper rifle's muzzle shattered in a cloud of dust. As if it were reacting to the attack, the dropship spun back around to face the cafe again. One of the missiles dropped from the front wings, fired its propellant, and streamed into an open window in the blink of an eye. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
She smiles softly at him. "Hopefully we'll see each other one more time before then, love.." She steps backwards, and the glow surrounding her strengthens, and in one burst of light it dissipates, and she is gone.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
When Laena disappeared Gale felt like part of himself died all over again. Even if she was melancholy when she appeared to him, even if she wasn't real, she was there and for a moment it was like she was with him again. Regardless, he remember what he had promised and tried his best to supress his feelings he stood quick enough to see the dropship release a missle toward the cafe. "Oh bloody hell." Without a second thought, Gale dived away from the cafe.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
*Rey'Kas, who is at the edge of the smoldering hole blown through the cafe`, drops his jaw in horror as the ship turns about and lowers a missile. He spins from the inside of the cafe`, through the hole, to the outside just as the missile is firing. The missile misses him, but the superheated air around the propellant jet burns through the shirt on his back, blackening his skin. The missile enters Tri-Link's even before Rey begins to feel pain.*
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Unopposed, the missile roared into the rear wall and detonated in a landslide of debris that jetted out the back of the building and rushed through the bar room like a wave. Once the heavier debris settled, Fury Three rose from behind the bar counter, rifle still in hand. He had only a brief moment to dive further down the aisle and out of the missile's immediate blast radius. Nonetheless he was covered in dust, bloody scratches and bruises, and beginning to take on an expression of pure rage. Enough was enough... With his free hand, he opened the side door at the end of the bar, stepped outside, and pivoted behind the corner to the rear of the cafe. The storage building was nearby.
As if the cafe hadn't taken enough already, the dropship's chaingun opened back up, this time in symphony with its two turreted counterparts. More holes ripped through the walls, adding more pins of light to the dust-filled air. *** "Damn... Too messy. For all they know The Incarnate could be in there. Doesn't the brass pay any attention to this ****?" The spook in the woods began to pack up his scope and prepared to pull out. |
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Gale snarls as he rises again, he managed to avoid most of the debris and eyes the dropship. He drew Sin, which glowed with dark energy. Without a second though he jumps into the air and flies toward the dropship.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Through the polarized glass of the cockpit, the pilot spots Gale charging their ship... With a sword? "What in the hell is he doing?" The pilot jerked instinctively on his yoke. The thrusters flared and lurched the dropship back and up, as if the craft itself flinched--But would it be far enough? Immediately, both turrets turned their attention from making the cafe into swiss cheese to chasing down Gale.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Gale spins in mid-air to avoid the spray of bullets from the turret. He was somewhat impressed with their technology, but he was still a god to them and he soon would show them their place. He charges a blast of dark energy in his hand. He avoid the fire until he had enough energy to destroy the ship in one stroke.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
To give the turrets a better shot, the pilot dipped the nose of the ship and brought it dangerously close to the ground. Both turrets tracked to compensate for the new angle and threw lead into the air, leaving the tracers to slowly drift like stars into the distance.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Gale is suprised by the tactic and finds his only way out is to fire his attack pre-maturely. He releases the blast in front of him, using it to shield him from the turret fire. However, it would run out of energy long before it reached the dropship. In turn, he had to change tactics. He follows his own blast and holds Sin out infront of him. It quickly morphs into a large shield. Hopefully, it would withstand the barrage long enough that he could reach the dropship before Sin would recive to much damage and reform.
|
Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V
Despite their hefty punch, the .50 caliber rounds deflected chaotically off Sin and scattered backwards into the forest and sky. One of the streams of fire wandered straight back into the dropship itself and hit one of the front wings. The wing's first thruster nozzle began to spew thick black smoke, and the ship lost its balance briefly.
Just as the spotter was ready to begin to fall back, the sound of bullets whizzing through the trees forced him instinctively to the ground. "What's going on back there now?" |
